Accordingly, the organizers of the prestigious Miss Universe pagean announced that they are giving the green light for their licensees to nominate this year’s delegates of their countries. This means that the national organizer does not have to organize national elections in this year and can announce the girl who will take part in the Miss Universe 2020 final. However, there is one condition – the chosen girl must be the winner of 1st Runner-Up title in last year national competition.

The idea has already been used by the organizers from Panama and Thailand, who announced that their countries in this year’s Miss Universe elections will be represented by Carmen Jaramillo – 1st Runner-Up of Señorita Panama 2019 and Miriam Sornprommas – 1st Runner-Up of Miss Universe Thailand 2019.

However, it is worth remembering that the final decision as to the choice of this year’s delegate will be up to the national organizers. Those who managed to organize the national final before the outbreak of the pandemic already have selected representatives. Others may organize a competition at a later date, but this will involve with the weaker preparation of their delegate.
